I can't believe it's already the end of summer! I came back from vacation to cooler weather, students starting fall semester at Jesuit, and Labor Day weekend came and went.
Denver was wonderful! I am so glad that I had the opportunity to travel out west with my mom. We always have a fun time together and it was great to do some mother/daughter bonding. While we were there, we were constantly on the go. We went to the Molly Brown Museum, the Denver Aquarium, the State Capitol, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Mile High Stadium/Invesco Field, the Colorado State History Museum, and a few other stops along the way. Red Rocks was absolutely astounding. The sheer size and beauty of this creation of Mother Nature is one you have to see in person to appreciate. While I am not a big fan of the Denver Bronco's to actually have the chance to stand on the 50 yard line of a professional football field was really neat. I also really enjoyed the Aquarium. I was also able to get Big T into a Coyote Ugly bar--even if it was only to buy Adam a t-shirt!
I went to Middle Bass Island a few days after I returned from Denver. Its a small secluded island out in Lake Erie. I love the island life and mentatlity--slow and very laid back! I did a whole lot of nothing while on the island. There was good food, good company, and just really a chance for a lot of rest and relaxation. Its very calming and peaceful to just sit in a chair and watch the water. One night, during a campfire, we were able to look up and see stars upon stars. It was amazing! I also had the change to wish upon a shooting star. I was able to do a lot of thinking and reflecting. I returned home from the lake very happy and of course, very tan!
Labor Day weekend brought friends in from out of town, some drinking, a lot of hanging out, and a great way to end the summer. Overall, the summer was awesome but I am very ready to start the autumn season!
