General Announcements

ATTENTION GRADUATING SENIORSâ€"Seniors who believe they will graduate with High Honors or Honors, please listen carefully. If your cumulative GPA will change this semester by falling into or below the range of 3.5 to 3.79 or by falling into the range of 3.8 or higher you will have a change of distinction at the Awards convocation and the Graduation Ceremony. Please see your counselor or Mrs. Bresloff immediately if your cumulative GPA will be affected. If you have any questions, see your counselor.

All students interested in AP Science courses do not forget that your applications are due by today. Stop into the science office to pick up your blue AP Science application.

Students interested in working in the school store next year must pick up an application from the business office or any business teacher by today! Additional reminder: You must be enrolled in a marketing course to work in the school store. Questions see Mrs. Frasier.

Prom 2006 is coming! The dance will be held Saturday May 6th from 8pm to 11pm at Invesco Field. Tickets go on sale Monday April 24th and will be sold until Friday May 5th, during both lunches. Tickets are $30 per person or $35 per person at the door. Remember all guest forms are due Wednesday, May 3rd.

Seniors: Need scholarships? We have one for men attending CU Boulder in the fall. The Post Grad Center receives new scholarships daily. Stop by!

Congratulations to Freshmen Liana Boraas (pronounced Lee awna Bore us), Mrs. Graham’s Language Arts student, for representing AHS in the Colorado Finals of the first Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest. Held at the University of Denver Newman Center on April 18, the contest was a production of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Colorado Council on the Arts. Liana recited from memory two poems to an audience including Denver Poet Laureate Chris Ransick and Colorado Poet Laureate Mary Crow, among other notables.

Congratulations go to the following speech club members who have accomplished all they need to do this year in order to letter in speech.

This is a VERY IMPORTANT reminder to those TSA members that qualified and are planning to attend the National TSA Conference in Dallas! Your commitment form and check are due no later than 3:00pm Monday afternoon. If you want to go…don’t miss the deadline!! See you after school Monday for our next TSA meeting!

Any Senior registering for 2006-2007 that is interested in a future medical career, should take the Medicine Class. The class is unique to Littleton Public Schools and should not be missed! If you are interested please stop by the science office to put your name on the list.

Attention all students! STATE ACT TESTING will be next Wednesday, April 25 for all juniors. Testing will start promptly at 7:25 AM. Freshmen, Sophomore and Seniors will have a delayed start. Classes will start at 11:30 AM and all Wednesday classes will be held.

Congratulations to Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band for achieving unanimous superior ratings in performance and sight reading at yesterday’s Large Group Festival! A special congratulation goes to Concert Band for achieving a superior rating in sight reading, and unanimous excellent ratings in performance! Way to go band musicians!!

Bass players are needed for next year’s jazz bands. No jazz experience is needed. If interested, please stop by the band room and pick up some audition music.

The Cast and crew of "The Sound of Music" would like to thank you for your support. The audiences Wed. and Thurs. were great. We have additional Standing Room Only seats available at 6:00 tonight and Saturday night. Please join us. Actors and Actresses auditions for next year's Company Class are next week. The Littleton Area Optimist Club named freshman Ashley Lambert as their oratory contest winner. She will go on to compete in the district competition May 20th in Longmont. Congratulations, Ashley!

Athletics

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team!! They won the Continental League Championship last night when they defeated Chaparral 16-5. They are undefeated in League play. This is the first time in 6 years that Girls Lacrosse has won Continental League. Scoring for your Warriors were: Chloe Adelmann 3 Goals; Adison Rounds 2 Goals, 3 Assists; Kristin Hosek 2 Goals, 2 Assists; Channing Ahbe 2 Goals, 1 Assist; Kate Spring 2 Goals; Stacey Birlson 1 Goal, 1 Assist; Alex Stoicof 1 Goal, 1 Assist; Hadley Bush 1 Goal; Katie Gerhard 1 Goal; Rachel Timmons 1 Goal; Anna Lepry 1 Assist. Goalie Allie Ernsten had 15 Saves. The other valuable players rounding out this Championship team are: Molly Ahern, Melissa Bailey, Karlee Bobzien, Liana Boraas, Carter Morr, Victoria Ramirez, and Paige Tryggestad. Fantastic play Ladies! We're proud of you. Now, let's take State!! Please come out and support the team in the playoffs.
