But a game of much importance is exactly what the Denver Broncos found themselves in as the Kansas City Chiefs visited INVESCO Field at Mile High for Monday Night Football.

For the Denver Broncos Cloudy morning skies gave way to a clear, sunny evening as kickoff neared in the Denver Broncos first prime-time game of the 2006 season.

Denver Broncos Head Coach Mike Shanahan declared the following players inactive prior to the game: wide receivers Denver Broncos David Terrell and Denver Broncos Todd Devoe, running back Denver Broncos Quentin Griffin, cornerback Denver Broncos Karl Paymah , Denver Broncos defensive tackle Monsanto Pope, tight ends Wesley Duke and Denver Broncos Nate Jackson and defensive end Marco Coleman.

Kansas City Chiefs starting left tackle Willie Roaf was also placed on the inactive list with an injury. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Kansas City Chiefs Jordan Black.
