Courtney Brown (born February 14, 1978)in Charlston South Carolina is an NFL defensive end. There he attened Mecedonia High School and was an all american Linebacker his senior year, he was also an offensive star, playing Tight End for Mecedonia High school. That year he also earned gatorade player of the year accalades. He played in the shrine bowl as well as in the North/South Carolina All-Star game.At the top of his game he was also a world class weight lifter as well as a basketball star who played in the North/South all-star game and earned his bachlor degree in intigrative arts in which he earned academic honors all in 96 and 97.

Courtney Brown finished his college career at Penn State with a record-breaking 33 sacks and 70 tackles for a loss. In 1999 was a consensus first-team all-American and first team all-Big Ten Conference choice in addition to earning defensive player of the year and defensive linemen of the year. He finished his college career as a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award and started all games his senior year.

Courtney Brown is known for being able to contain run plays on his side of the field, regardless of if he is being blocked or not. He is gifted with a combination of raw strength and considerable speed and agility for his size (6'4" - 285 pounds).

Before Mario Williams in 2006, Brown was the last defensive player selected number one.
